Before you ship your belongings to Sri Lanka, you should determine first which container size to go for. Remember that a 20-foot container can accommodate the contents of an average 3-bedroom house. If you're taking a car with you, or your belongings fit into a 4- or 5-bedroom house, you should opt for a 40-foot container instead.
In general a car will fit into a 20ft container. You will also need to consider quarantine and tax charges usually levied on importing vehicles.
