On the southern coast of Cyprus is the country’s third largest city – Larnaca. Larnaca has a relaxing Mediterranean climate, reaching up to 32°C in the summer months. The weather and the calm surroundings offer residents a more laid back way of life. Due to its coastal location, the city boasts spectacular sea views and you can spend many an evening strolling along the sandy beaches to watch the glorious sunset. Must-see landmarks in Larnaca include the historic Church of Saint Lazarus, which was founded way back in the late 9th century, Europe Square, Pierides Museum and not forgetting Larnaca Castle. Taste the delicious local cuisine at one of Larnaca’s many restaurants, which serve up popular Cypriot dishes such as fasolaki, kohlrabi salad and souvla. With more than a hundred educational institutions in the city, expats with children will have no trouble finding the perfect school. Cycling is a very popular way to explore the city, or you can choose to hop on one of the city’s public buses. Make the most of the sparkling waters by taking up sailing, fishing or maybe even snorkelling. But before reaching for the fishing rod, you will need to prepare the shipping of your household items. Transporting the belongings from inside a 3-bedroom house will require a 20-foot container, whereas the belongings from inside a 4 or 5-bedroom house will require a 40-foot one. A 40-foot container could also house items from a 3-bedroom house, as well as having room to also accommodate a medium sized vehicle.
