Sydney is the most populous and multicultural city in Australia. Home to the stunning Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, this city is host to millions of international visitors each year. This modern metropolis is located on Australia's east coast and you'll find yourself in a warm climate surrounded by iconic beaches, beautiful parks and nature reserves. Whilst many people get around Sydney by car, the city also offers a public transport system consisting of buses, trains and one of the largest tram networks in the world. Whether you enjoy a buzzing, vibrant city or an active lifestyle in the outdoors, be prepared for all the opportunities Sydney has to offer.
Before you whip out your sunglasses and sun lotion, you'll need to prepare to transport your belongings to Sydney, which should be quite easy. Here is a rough guide as to what shipping container size to use: You can fit the contents of a 3-bedroom house or two small city-cars in a 20-foot container. Alternatively, you can fit the contents of a 3-bed house and a vehicle in a 40-foot container. If you're not taking your car, a 40-foot container should be able to accommodate the contents of a 4 to 5 bedroom house, including bicycles and other medium-sized items you might wish to take.
In general a car will fit into a 20ft container. You will also need to consider quarantine and tax charges usually levied on importing vehicles.
