Lima is Peru’s capital city and with around 10 million people residing there, it’s also the country’s most populous metropolitan area. To look at, Lima is a colourful city that seems to radiate an abundance of character and culture. Lima’s cityscape consists of a diverse range of architecture, from Spanish Baroque style buildings, such as the Cathedral of Lima, to 1960’s modern architecture, such as the Museum of the Nation. For those who love being outside in the fresh air, there are plenty of parks both inside and outside the city centre, including the Park of the Reserve, Pantanos de Villa Wildlife Refuge and one of the city’s largest parks – El Campo de Marte. The city contains a very high number of primary, secondary and high schools, offering both public and private options, along with an array of universities specialising in several different subjects. Lima’s beautiful beaches attract countless visitors each year, especially during the summer months, and there are many restaurants, bars and clubs located close by in which to enjoy a refreshing cocktail after a relaxing day at the beach. The diverse city of Lima is sure to offer a great new home for expats from all around the world, but before moving there, it’s essential to arrange the shipping of your household items. If you want to transport more, such as the contents of a 4 or 5-bedroom house, or a 3-bedroom house with a bike or two, a 40-foot shipping container would be much more suitable.
