Literal Meaning of German Federal State Names

A controversial map showing the "literal federal states of German translation" seems to have translated words from old German. Or rather, the old German words for these states.

Reddit user Sankido who translated the words suggests that they come from the old German words for these states, rather than literal translations of the names now.

We wonder what the people of Odin's .... well.... people would think of these translations. Perhaps the "Bold people" could arrange the introduction, with a little muscle coming from the "warrior people". Who we assume get their swords from the "Sword people".

What do you think of these translations? Let us know in the comments!
