This article has been written for Movehub by one of our favourite bloggers, Kristy Leigh. If you’re interested in good food we recommend you visit her at KristyLeigh.com – advice and info on every kind of dish, sauce, condiment, dessert and drink you can think of, from one of Perth’s most knowledgable and passionate food writers.

Every year since 2010, I have attended the incredible Good Food and Wine Show in Perth. Usually armed with entire weekend passes and tickets to my favourite sessions, that weekend becomes my favourite of the year. This year marks their 9th anniversary in Perth and is growing every year.

Presented by Citi, the event will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 11 – 13 July 2014, and is set to take Perth’s food and wine fanatics on a gastronomic celebration that will entertain, inspire and indulge the senses.

I always go the first day alone to fully immerse myself in the GFWS shows, events, classes and demonstrations. I like to chat with the vendors, take photos and make notes as I go – this can be very boring to non-bloggers.

The second day I enjoy the food and wine tastings and photo opportunities with the husband. Perfect as by that time I want to just sit back and enjoy the show for the nibbles and tipple. However looking at this year’s offers and lineup, I am going to try and attend all 3 days and eat as much as my tummy can handle. It’s a very exciting event this year!

Something that I am really excited about is the brand new WA Artisan Lane. This will be a showcase of the very best of artisan producers from around WA – including wine, beer, the delectable Fremantle Sardines, Blackwood Valley Smalls and Dellandale Dairy. Western Australia has amazing produce and it’s great they get a starring role in this year’s show.

The Celebrity Chefs who will be rocking the ILVE Good Food Theatre are:

Maggie Beer (one of my absolute favourites) Antonio Carluccio Matt MoranMatt Stone Miguel Maestre Adriano Zumbo Alastair McLeod

Each chef will whip up a 3 course meal in front of you and walk through all their tricks to get it right! It’s loud, fun, interactive and if you’re lucky, you might even get to nibble on some of their dishes or win a prize. A few years ago I was crazy enough to dance on stage and win myself an Analon frying pan – woo! Access to these live action sessions are included in your general entry ticket, so plan out your day using this helpful schedule

Other great inclusions that come with your general entry ticket ($35):

Cheese Alley by Tucker’s Natural

Cows, goats, water buffalos, we love them all for their contribution to… cheese.
